ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we introduce the H∞ norm and H2 norm of rational matrices. Particularly, for the transfer matrix function of a linear system, we give LMI conditions for these norms to be bounded by a certain level. The results in this chapter form a base for H∞ and H2 control systems design problems addressed in the next part.
