ABSTRACT

How is organic matter added to landscape soils? The landscaper should first try to retain organic matter on site. To accomplish this, mulch grass clippings in place and add shredded leaves to flower beds. Also, recycle both woody and herbaceous prunings by shredding and/ or composting them. Next, incorporate organic matter into planting sites prior to planting. Use composted yard waste, peat moss, or other readily available organic materials.
