ABSTRACT

The life cycle, as health professionals speak of it in relation to nutrition, is related to the idea of “cradle to grave.” Our nutrition discussion in this chapter looks at the life cycle to include pregnancy, through senior adulthood. It omits “normal” nutrition (which is addressed throughout other chapters of this book, therefore wellness in adult ages, and diet and disease). Studying for a culinary career is certainly not limited to a “typical college age”;

thus this chapter material may be very helpful to you personally-and your children (even grandchildren), siblings, parents, and grandparents!
