ABSTRACT
The purpose of this chapter is to provide some introductory information that will help you get started using MATLAB. We will describe:
• The desktop environment • How to get help from several sources • Ways to get your data into and out of MATLAB • The different data types in MATLAB • How to work with arrays • Functions and commands
We do not have to concern ourselves with a lot of detailed notation because this book will not contain many equations. However, we do use certain fonts to indicate MATLAB functionality, as outlined here.
