Designing and implementing a clinical governance system that could marry the market’s demand for outcomes and the New Giants’ need to lead value creation in their own practices was essential groundwork. Without that system, our practitioners would have no way of knowing what to do with their patients, other than conducting their own specialist procedures and sending them home to recover. The old system of Minder Giant governance just wasn’t going to be adequate to cost-effectively address the value-creation challenge any longer.
