ABSTRACT
Dr. Nicholas LaRusso, the Mayo Clinic’s director of the Center for Innovation, has made it very clear that Mayo is profoundly committed to driving value in the delivery of its services. And he’s been equally clear in his assertion that this value will be led by Mayo’s primary-care teams. The intent is not to downgrade specialization, but to acknowledge that extracting greater outcome-based value from specialist procedural practice requires integration.
