ABSTRACT
Quercetin (30,40,5,7-tetrahydroxyflavonol, 3,30,40,5,7pentahydroxyflavone, 2-(3,4-dihydroxy-phenyl)-3,5,7trihydroxy-chromen-4-one, 2-(3,4-dihydroxyphenyl)- 3,5,7-trihydroxy-4H-1-benzopyran-4-one) is a flavonol, belonging to a class of naturally occurring flavonoids.[1-4] It is composed of 3,5,7-trihydroxy-4H-1benzopyran-4-one (A and C) and a 3,4-dihydroxyphenyl ring (B) (Fig. 1).
