ABSTRACT
Several chapters in this book summarize the authors’ career paths after completion of graduate school. My chapter includes significant childhood and early adult experiences that coalesced into eventually completing a PhD degree in statistics. I also summarize some highlights of my biostatistics academic career post PhD at two universities over 37 years. My educational and career paths had twists and turns and were not planned in advance, but an underlying theme throughout was my strong interest and ability in mathematics and statistics.
