ABSTRACT

Over the course of this book, we have introduced the concepts and processes that are vital to LEAN SCM. Ultimately, however, the success of LEAN SCM depends on people and the organizational set-up in which they work. For a company’s personnel, LEAN SCM represents a significant change in the way in which the supply chain works. To ensure that LEAN principles are implemented effectively and yield sustainable benefits over the long run, it is vital to develop understanding, acceptance, and commitment to LEAN SCM throughout your company’s supply chain organization. Experience shows that even the most carefully conceived concepts will not deliver benefits and will not be sustained if the organization does not support the change and accept the new way of working.
