Project Success and Planning: What Are They?

Before it is possible to get into the detail of the impact of the project planning phase on success, it is of course important to define what a successful project is. Traditional measurements of project success focused on meeting the timelines and budget goals of a project. This is the so-called triple constraint or iron triangle. See Figure 4.1.
