ABSTRACT

In consideration of the bloke from Chapter 12, [who is still] running at a constant speed around a circular track, we shall make explicit the connection between SHO and uniform circular motion. First recall [volume i, Chapter 8] a few properties of uniform circular motion:

f The trajectory covers1 a circle of radius R. The distance run is equal to the arc length, S = Rθ [up to an additive constant which can be absorbed into the angular position, θ].
