ABSTRACT

Multi-detector computed tomography (MDCT) is used in pediatric patients as a second-line imaging modality after echocardiography and MRI, if anatomic findings are unclear or confirmation is required. 413–416 Because of its short acquisition time, CT can frequently be performed with mild sedation. However, because of the radiation exposure, a particularly careful evaluation of the risks and benefits is necessary in the pediatric patient population. 417–422
