ABSTRACT

An oscilloscope is most often used to measure and display an electrical signal (typically voltage signal at a node) as a function of time. A popular display has the voltage signal on the Y-axis against time on the X-axis, as shown in Figure 8.1. Hence, it is a time domain measuring equipment. Typically, an oscilloscope will capture the signal of interest (data) in the time domain, process the data, and display it.
