ABSTRACT

This chapter presents an overview of the city planning process has been outlined as well as more theoretical aspects of city planning in the context of life cycle theory. Theoretical and overview aspects of city planning are important, but one must always realize that practitioners will face challenges, which may not correspond with the theoretical aspects of city planning. The location of buildings, coupled with designing certain areas of a city for specific purposes such as residential, commercial, and industrial, is extremely important in urban planning.
