Captain Cliff Ramsey’s Story One of my best detectives in the Crimes Against Juveniles (CJ) unit was retiring in a few weeks. Denise had earned her position in CJ several years ago because of her stellar performance as a homicide detective. In addition to her experience and work ethic, she brought something unique to the unit. CJ desperately needed more females at that time. Frankly, there were just some situations, particularly those involving young girls, to which a female detective’s presence was better suited.
