ABSTRACT
Ischemic stroke The basic challenge in ischemic stroke is to restore blood flow to the brain before there is irreversible tissue damage and loss of neurological function. The most effective therapies will likely be a combination of pharmacologic and mechanical means of restoring flow while protecting brain tissue.
