Europe is well established as the leading worldwide market for photovoltaics (PV) and is also strongly involved in both nanotechnology innovation and industrial applications in the eld. Solar PV electricity production is the most obvious energy technology where innovative nanostructured materials and nanotechnology are contributing to technology development and to new sustainable, competitive industrial processes.
