ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we shall define continuity of functions and study their properties. Unlike books at this level, we shall start with a definition which makes use of our knowledge of convergent sequences. Later we shall give an equivalent definition. At the end we shall give the definition of a limit of a function at a point and use it to give a third definition of continuity of a function at a point. First two definitions allow us to define the continuity at a point of a function defined on an arbitrary subset of R.
