ABSTRACT

Colleges and universities are often exceptional sources of free information and low-cost assistance for safety and loss prevention professionals. As can be seen from Appendix A, there are approximately 137 schools in the United States offering a wide array of safety, health, industrial hygiene, loss prevention, and related degree programs and ranging from community colleges to major universities. Although the academic degree may vary, these colleges and universities can be major sources of up-to-date information in the area of safety and loss prevention information, sources of qualied long-term and short-term personnel, and sources for free or low-cost consultation services, as well as exceptional sources for safety and loss prevention experience and expertise.
