ABSTRACT

A great deal of valuable information can be gleaned from epidemiological and risk analysis studies into the various risk factors associated with WMSDs (work-related musculoskeletal disorders). This information may contribute to a better understanding of risk and the design of ergonomically correct workstations. Various methods have been developed for measuring risk in the manual handling of loads or patients (e.g., MAPO, etc.), based on exposure to numerous risk factors.
