ABSTRACT

Use of plant or herbal extracts or herbal formulations to treat human diseases is very common in various folk medicines in Asian countries, especially in China medicinal herbs are known for their multifaceted pharmacological activities and thus can form an effective treatment method. Quite a number of herbal extracts or decoration phytochemicals and herbal formulations have been evaluated systematically and clinically for their therapeutic benets in experimental animal models and in humans, but clinical studies using the same approach are sparse. Herbal extracts with antioxidants, antidiabetic, and antihyperlipidemic properties have been intensively investigated studies in the last decades.
