ABSTRACT

In a broad definition, geometry processing refers to a wide range of operations on 3D meshes: denoising, smoothing, simplification, hole filing, acquisition, and segmentation, to name a few. In this book, we are interested in spectral analysis of 3D shapes. We adopt the concept of “filtering” in [Vallet and Le´vy 08], which refers to mesh processing in frequency domain. The filtering of mesh geometry can also be achieved by solving a Poisson equation [Chuang and Kazhdan 11].
