ABSTRACT

Description. In the literature, individual stalls are often described as having the advantage of making the horse “easily available”, while for group management systems, the disadvantage of a “decreased availability” is stressed. The problem of horses that are unwilling to be caught once they are in a paddock or pasture must therefore be widespread. The problem ranges from a temporary inability to catch the horse to the necessity of bringing the entire group into the barn in order to catch one horse.
