ABSTRACT
Anetoderma describes well-demarcated regions of flaccid skin caused by loss of dermal elastic fibers. The etiology is unknown but mechanisms may include defective elastic synthesis, uncontrolled elastolytic enzymes, elastophagocytosis, ischemia, or shared autoimmune antigenicity.
