ABSTRACT
Practical machining of a part surface P is performed by means of cutting tools of an appropriate design. The stock removal and generation of the part surface P are the two major functions of the cutting tool to be applied. A high-performance cutting tool is capable of efficient performance of both of these functions. This section of the book is primarily focused on the second function of the cutting tool, namely on generating of a given part surface P.
