ABSTRACT
In this chapter we consider the use of Bregman distances in constrained optimization through the proximal minimization method. The proximal minimization algorithm (PMA) is in the SUMMA class and this fact is used to establish important properties of the PMA. A detailed discussion of the PMA and its history is found in the book by Censor and Zenios [95].
