ABSTRACT

Optical transformation devices realized with anisotropic inhomogeneous metamaterials are challenging in real design and fabrication. Alternatively, nearly isotropic inhomogeneous metamaterials can be adopted for a series of transformation devices. In these designs, quasi-conformal mapping is applied between the virtual space and the physical space. In this chapter, we will discuss some interesting broadband devices and antennas using nearly isotropic inhomogeneous metamaterials.
