ABSTRACT

Chemical peels, among the most ancient cosmetic treatments, have undergone a quick evolution during the last 20 years. The evolution has not been based on the chemical molecules themselves; doctors still use alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), trichloroacetic acid (TCA), phenol, or salicylic acid. The evolution relates to the security, reproducibility, and combination of techniques.
