ABSTRACT
ThetopprioritiesofpressmaintenanceareHousekeepingandSafetyforthe protectionofthemaintenancepersonnelandthepressoperator.Theproverbial loadedgunssuchaselectrical,air/pneumatics,andflywheelenergycancause seriousinjurytothemaintenancepersonnelorpressoperator.Beforeanypress maintenanceworkisstarted,theslidemustbeplacedonthebottomofthestroke (toprotectpersonnelfromtheslide,gears,oranypresspartsrolling),andthe pressmustbeshutdownperOccupationalSafetyandHealthAdministration (OSHA)"Lockout/Tagout"standards(Fig.1).
