ABSTRACT
Slitting is among the most common processes in the metalworking industry. It is the process in which a wide master coil is unwound, cut into predetermined widths along its entire length, and rewound into narrower-width coils. The slit coils are then ready for further processing, which may include additional rolling, surface decorating, shearing, stamping, forming, or slitting again into even narrower coils.
