ABSTRACT

Competing with other cutting/forming processes for metal such as high-definition plasma cutting, punching, nibbling, or wire electric discharge machining, laser cutting has a broad range of advantages both in work results and in economics when used in its proper applications. This chapter serves to help identify these applications. It will provide information about the technology and how to use it and consequently give an overview of the equipment and facility infrastructure which may be required to achieve the best possible result.
