ABSTRACT
This chapter puts emphasis on numerous bio-based nanocomposites used for green packaging, a step towards replacing non-biodegradable packaging. First section deals with the importance and present scenario of nanotechnology in the present Century. Thereafter, the need of nanotechnology for the packaging applications is discussed, wherein the role of fillers including nanofillers, has been included. Subsequent section includes classification, properties, and applications of nanocomposites followed by the role of bio-nanocomposites. Fabrication technologies of bio-nanocomposites are the key highlights for the chapter.
