ABSTRACT

ABSTRACT: Certain courses at the Faculty of Architecture and Fine Art, NTNU use full-size construction as an important educational tool due to its additional value over a “paper on the wall project”. By developing their own architectural design and constructing a selected project, the students gain further insight as to the development of architectural concepts, the inherent properties of materials, structures, workmanship, fabrication, erection of structures, collaboration and communication. This paper discusses these advantages both in general and regarding a birdwatching tower in Rindal as a case study.
