ABSTRACT
Architecture is an open work and should not be regarded as an achievement but as a process, it is never finished and is continuously used (Vieira de Almeida 2008).
In the city of Oporto, the Porto Vivo, SRU - Society for Urban Rehabilitation has recently been created and its mission is to lead the process of urban regeneration. This institution has replaced CRUARB (commission for the urban renewal of Ribeira/Barredo) restructuring their political action.
