ABSTRACT

Despite the fact that, at present there is a high number of construction materials characterized by a wide scale of parameters which are primarily derived for the purpose of their application, it is still necessary to search for new ways and directions forward in this respect. As a rule of thumb, the reasons are economic and environmental. Economic and environmental aspects closely relate to each other. A trend of existing material use is fast-renewable raw materials which are applied in many areas of application. Fast-renewable raw materials can be mostly understood as organic substances – tree species and plants. Technical hemp has become discussed more talked about topic in recent years Besides these fast-renewable raw materials, there is interest in raw materials of another origin as well, e.g. side energy products which are applied mainly as ingredients in cement compositions. Due to their nature, in respect, their composition, cement-chip boards provide a relatively wide area for the use of the most variable wastes or secondary raw materials which also coincide with the above-mentioned types. The basic components of cement-chip boards are cement, wooden substances, water and additives. The disadvantage of these materials remains their relatively high price. A decrease in price while improving the physical and mechanical properties, including a more favourable impact on the environment could be achieved by partial or total replacement of primary raw materials or additives. It is possible to consider such modification of all components, i.e. binder, filler and additives and ingredients.
