ABSTRACT

This chapter describes the application o f a high resolution slab gel electro­ phoretic technique for the analysis o f polysaccharide structures. This tech­ nique was developed primarily for the analysis o f plant-derived polysaccha­ rides (particularly the amylopectin component o f starch), but it is clear that many other polysaccharide structures can be investigated using this method. Suitable examples were chosen to demonstrate the utility o f the method.
