ABSTRACT

A critical skill set of all leaders and managers is the ability to bring the majority of all trade opportunities to a successful negotiation. Mining is a tool that digs or mines for information useful in assessing the circumstances surrounding the negotiation process. Mining becomes an important tool to utilize as managers are stacking up managers opportunity to negotiate successfully when managers are fully informed. The strategic plan has seven considerations are Goal setting, Assessment, Mining, Planning, Action, Tweaking, and Closure. From managers assessment and mining processes, managers will begin to draft a strategy and plan of action on how best to move forward with the negotiation. Action is the tactical approach. It becomes the actual steps and actions that managers make happen as managers move forward on the negotiation. Trust may just be the most important tool managers have to obtain compromise and consensus.
