ABSTRACT
It is important to note at the early stage of a biomaterials course that the use of biomaterials as medical implants is primarily aimed at the recovery of physical, especially mechanical, functions of injured or diseased organs or tissues. The application of biomaterials lies in the fact that besides physical support, biomaterials have no other biological functions.
