ABSTRACT

A major problem facing the speaker therefore is the audi ence response in a situation where he has taken away its freedom of action. He has to make the decisions with regard to order of presentation of information, the speed of presentation and the need for any recapitulation. His words are not permanent and available for reference. Once spoken they are gone, and if the message has not been communicated within a few seconds then it is lost forever as far as the audience is concerned.
