ABSTRACT

This chapter exists in the space created by three separate (although somewhat related) topics: hashing, Bloom filters, and data streaming. The last term is not fully established in the literature, having been created relatively recently-within the last decade or so, which is why it appears under various code names in literature, some of which are streaming algorithms, data streaming, and data streams. The title of this chapter clearly shows that this author prefers the term data streaming. The first two topics are well known and have been around in both practice and theory for many years.
