ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we discuss interactions of radiation with matter, which vary with the types and energies of radiation under investigation. The main thrust is on the propagation of radiations, i.e., how far they go in a medium and how much energies they deposit along the way as they pass through a medium. This chapter deals with charged particles heavier than electrons. Electron, photons and neutrons are discussed in the next two chapters.
