ABSTRACT
The symbol for a check valve is shown in Figure 1.13c; flow in this valve is from left to right. Do not confuse this symbol with an arrowhead. The circle represents the moving element of the check valve, often a ball, and the slant lines represent the seat, against which the ball is pressed when the valve shuts.
