ABSTRACT
The processes discussed so far in this book are all treated as continuous operations. Although dynamics were considered, for the most part those processes were considered as steady state, where the properties or state variables at any given point in the process are considered time invariant. An important separation process that differs in this respect is batch distillation, a time-dependent process.
