ABSTRACT
This chapter introduces a number of topics somewhat more advanced than the earlier sections of the text. In particular, we discuss the Lambert-W function. This function may be considered a new addition to the class of elementary functions, i.e., the polynomial, exponential, and trigonometric functions. The fact that it has serious applications in almost all of the natural and engineering sciences provides a measure of its fundamental importance.
