ABSTRACT

There are countless physical and chemical methods of manufacturing microcapsules. Each method produces specic capsule systems with a highly individual prole of properties.

Microcapsules, which in our case mostly consist of a liquid core and a stable plastic shell, are dened as being on a scale of 0.5 to 1000 µm in diameter. Diameters of less than 60 µm are indistinguishable to the naked human eye (Figure 60.1).
