ABSTRACT
Before selecting or negotiating a hardware warranty agreement, it is important to understand that the warranty is neither a guarantee of performance nor a free service. Choices can be made for services that are not openly offered as a standard agreement, and users can customize their relationships with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) if aware of the purposes and limitations of warranty programs.
