ABSTRACT
This chapter starts with the challenge to critically consider agroecological perspectives for food production in a period of what might now be regarded as a new era of agri-food productionism. How can we “feed the world” in a truly sustainable way? Can sustainable agricultural farm systems and practices contribute to an efficient, productive, and profitable agriculture, meeting the demands of a growing world population and adapting to climate change?
