ABSTRACT
The active noise control systems discussed in previous chapters require the use of transducers to either generate or measure sound. To choose the most appropriate transducer for a particular application, and to predict the maximum controllability of a particular physical system, it is useful to have a basic understanding of the physical principles governing the operation of the various transducers, so these are discussed in the following paragraphs.
