ABSTRACT

Optimal design is always a dicult yet vital task for any hardwaresystem development, often under certain constraints. 3D imaging system design is no exception, a good design can achieve high-quality measurement, and a bad design can be costly yet without achieving its potential capabilities. This chapter discusses some of the factors we think are important to 3D imaging system development. We will mainly focus on addressing one key factor (i.e., projected fringe angle) that since this factor has not been well recognized in the community.
