ABSTRACT

The phase obtained from a single-wavelength fringe pattern(s) onlyprovides phase values ranging (−π,+π) with 2π discontinuities. For 3D imaging, continuous phase is required, and thus properly removing 2π jumps is necessary. Multiwavelength phase-shifting algorithms introduced in Chapter 2 is one approach for laser-interference-based systems, and the multiwavelength phase-shifting algorithms can be adapted to the DFP systems. Due to the versatility of DFP systems, more temporal phase-unwrapping methods can be realized that are not possible for laser interference systems. This chapter summarizes some major temporal phase-unwrapping algorithms that can be employed for DFP systems.
